What Do You Enjoy Most About Being a Dentist?
For Dr. Searcey, there really is nothing more satisfying than getting to watch a patient’s eyes light up after they see their healthy, beautiful smile following a treatment plan. She also always looks forward to pursuing continuing education and learning as much as she can about the oral healthcare field, which results in better and better care.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Searcey studied biological sciences at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and received her Bachelor of Science with high distinction. After spending a year in South America on a Fulbright scholarship, she returned to the states to start dental school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, during which she volunteered her dental services for both local and international outreach programs. She received an Air Force scholarship and completed three years of active-duty service as a dentist and commissioned officer following graduation. She joined the North Dakota National Guard in 2021!
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Away from work, Dr. Searcey loves traveling with her husband to visit friends and family across the country, as well as golfing, fishing, and rolling up her sleeves to work on their home. She can’t wait to introduce their niece and nephews to curling and ice fishing this winter!
